Traditional, centralized IT operating model is not adaptable or agile enough to support staying competitive in this continuously evolving digital marketplace. How can we reorganize IT, so it integrates directly into the business while remaining centralized where appropriate to maintain benefits from the scale? Jonathan See serves as the chief information officer (CIO) at Pepperdine University. He was appointed interim CIO in September 2011 and permanently as CIO in January 2012. As the CIO, See provides leadership and support for the advancement and use of technology at Pepperdine University. He brings to information technology division a business value perspective and end user experience focus.In all,See has worked in higher education for 27 years. Prior to his CIO appointment, See served in other capacities since joining Pepperdine in July2005, including senior director for IT Administration and Client Services, and deputy CIO. In addition, See worked at the Getty Research Institute for three and a half years as the head of administration and at the California State University, Los Angeles campus for 14 years where the last position he held was deputy executive director for commercial operations. Born in Philippines and raised in Hong Kong, See received his primary and secondary school education in Hong Kong. In 1985 together with his parents and two sisters, See immigrated to the United States where he pursued a degree in Communications in University of San Francisco and California State University, Los Angeles.
